Agafay desert is one of the most popular spots and a destination for tourists and famous stars as well as the lovers of photograghy. Only 1hour driving from Marrakech to spend one night in a luxury camp enjoying the scenic landscapes of the High Atlas mountains. You will leave Marrakech city at 9:00 am and head trough Tahnaout,enjoying olive groves, lemon and orange trees. Admiring Berber villages and Kik plateau as well as Takrkoust lake. You will hike from Ourika valley and have lunch in of local restaurants Ourika valley in Atlas mountains. Arrive Agafay Sahara desert and experience camel ride and sunset. Overnight in a lux Agafay desert camp.
Agafay Desert in 2 days 1 night Itinerary
Day 01 Marrakech - Tahanouet - Kik Plateau - Takerkoust Dam - Agafay Desert
- Depature from the hotel at 9h00 am by 4×4 An and set off to discover the Agafay desert.
- You travel off-road passing a small lake and Berber villages and have time to get out and walk for a while along the tracks if you wish.
- You can also choose to take a camel ride and have tea in a Berber village.
- Head towards the lake of Lalla Takerkoust. which is a popular spot for picnics on the edge of the lake, restaurants serving traditional food.
- Lunch will be in one of Ourika valley restaurants (not inc. in the price).
- Later on you will drive to agafay desert and stay the night in tents
Day 02 Agafay Desert - Asni - Marrakech
- Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise
- Having typical breakfast.
- Continue your journey east toward the Kik Plateau where you will stop for refreshments and having some pictures.
- Take the road to the village of Moulay Brahim, with its famous holy shrine.
- You will descend to weekly market of Asni at the foothill of Atlas Mountains( Market on Saturda) .
- Heading toward Marrakech enjoying scenic views.
- Arrive red city at 6:00 PM and drop off at your accommodation.
